Antique Val St Lambert cased Cut crystal inkwell. Commonly known in France as a “Bousille Revenche Encrier” (rough translation - Screw up, revenge ink well).
These inkwells although not rare exactly, are quite scarce. They were made by the workers after hours and in breaks presumably to be sold to bolster up their income - hence the nickname “revenge”.
This inkwell dates to around circa 1900 and is a pretty example having a yellow milk glass interior encased in a heavy cut crystal. The stopper is almost emulating the Eiffel Tower being a tall obelisk shape with a cut tip and hexagonal bottom perfectly matching the shape of the bottle.
