Rare Antique novelty oil lamp standing 30cm tall to the top of the burner.

The oil lamp is modelled as the wolf from “Little Red Riding Hood” and was probably made in Germany although marked with an English registration mark it, was common for importers to register designs from abroad in this country to deter copies.

The registration mark to the underside date the lamp to circa 1887 but the other mark has proved hard to identify. This is most likely because it is an importers mark rather than a makers mark.

The lamp is fitted with a British made burner with good quality gallery, it has a working snuffer lever and wick winders and a new wick has been fitted.

Overall the lamp is in good condition but does have a very shallow chip to the reverse. As my pictures show, the chip is more of a loss to the glaze rather than a deep chip.
