Stunning Palais royal sewing/vanity box with brass banding to the exterior and a boulle work central decoration to the lid. Internally the box is fully fitted in muted shades of dark green and sage green cotton velvet. There is a mirror inside the lid that has been separated into three by way of four arches with Corinthian column supports. I believe This design is a nod to the actual Palais Royal, France architecture.
The main body of the box has a lidded compartment, the lid of which is fitted with a gilt darning needle, awl, thimble, embroidery scissors (still sharp) and a needle case. This central compartment is flanked by two baccarat perfume bottles both of which are in good condition. There are two further lidded compartments and a larger void towards the front.
