Pair Of Vintage Oak Roll Front Filing Cabinets, Tambour Front Filing Drawers. Nice pair of cabinets labelled ‘The National Mutual Creditors Association Ltd’, 120 Cheapside London EC2. One has a metal plate and one a transfer. Standing 1135mm tall, 415mmm deep, and 475mm wide. All surfaces have been sanded, holes and a couple of long cracks have been filled and all wood waxed, the finish is good for the age and the colour varying degrees of medium to dark oak. The cabinets were dismantled so all the oak slats on the fronts could be re stuck to a new fabric backing, the tops were originally nailed on through the top! All those holes now filled and the tops screwed on from inside, this means buyer could reposition the tops if they want the cabinets to fit snuggly side by side. The brass handles, lock escutcheons, and sign holders have been polished. Cabinets have Four castors each which turn and swivel. Both cabinets have working locks which use the same key. When the tambour is pulled upwards to close then engages without the key, when key is inserted and turned the fronts fall and curl up underneath. There is only one key and I strongly suggest buyer gets additional keys cut. Each unit has ten removable trays/drawers that have internal measurements of 365mm wide, 287mm deep, and 58mm tall. Please see all pictures and a video of roll front and lock in action. Viewing and collection only from TA11 in Somerton by appointment. My customers have previously used Proovia or Shiply successfully in having collected and delivered. |
