Antique spelter? Figural candlestick after Jacques Callot and modelled as Zanni - a character from Commedia dell’arte
 
He is an interesting figure the origin and age of which, I don’t know. However, this figure is after a series of works depicting Commedia dell’arte characters by Jaques Callot who was born in Nancy, France but also spent time in Florence. 
 
Overall he is in nice antique condition barring the fact that one foot has come adrift from its mooring.
