Antique Oil Lamp Urn Shaped Hinks No.2 Burner Etched Beehive Antique Shade.
Excellent condition throughout, apart from one tooth missing from the burner. (Can’t be seen when the shade is in situ).
The lamp stands 66cm tall to the top of the glass chimney.
The base is a black treacle glazed pottery socle.
The main ‘Urn’ sits on a brass ring at the base and has another brass ring at the top which is held in place by the brass font holder at the top.
The urn has a cream coloured back ground with a reddish brown geometric pattern and images to the body.
A drop in font with similar decoration sits in the main body of the lamp and has a brass lugged collar stamped‘Hinks & Sons’.
Into the collar sits a brass duplex burner marked ‘Hinks No.2’ to single stalk wick winder which functions and controls both wicks.
There is a working snuffer lever and the bridge on the burner is also marked’Hinks’.
The burner has flexible teeth (one missing) that hold a clear glass flat bulge chimney, an integrated gallery holds the shade.
The shade is beehive shaped and acid etched with a pattern of flowers and leaves. Some flea bites to the base that can’t be seen once the shade is on the gallery.
No chips or cracks to the lamp base, shade and chimney.
