Beautiful antique oil lamp standing 70 cm tall
 
A black treacle glazed socle supports a classical fluted brass column with “jelly mould” decorative foot. The brass of the base has got dezincification in some areas which has turned the brass a pretty rose gold colour. 
 
The font has a brass undermount that screws into the base and a brass collar that houses the burner.
 
The font is a beautiful dark peach/orange at the top graduating to a soft peach at the base. The font has been beautifully hand enamelled with a vaguely oriental pattern of birds among magnolia branches. 
 
The brass Duplex burner has two working wick winders marked ‘English Made Duplex’, a working snuffer lever, new wicks, and a brass gallery.
 
The burner holds a clear glass flat bulge chimney marked ‘Anchor Brand Fireproof’.
 
The brass gallery supports a pumpkin form shade that is frosted around the main body and clear at the top and bottom. The frosted glass has been cut with an eight point star. Research suggests this a Hinks shade.
 
There are small chips to the underside fitter, as per picture, which can’t be seen once the shade is in the gallery.
