A pretty antique oil lamp standing 70cm tall overall.
 
The lamp has a glossy black glazed terracotta socle base with decorative brass foot and barley twist column.
 
A panel cut crystal font screws into the base and has a brass lugged type collar marked Messengers.
 
A Messengers key lift burner with integrated gallery slots onto the collar and a snuffer lever and single stem to control both wicks. The glass button to the end of the wick winder is marked “Harrods Stores” and “ Messengers”
 
The lamp is completed with a flat bulge chimney and very pretty (if flawed) antique frilled glass shade which is acid etched with a floral pattern. The shade graduates in colour from a mid green at the rim to almost clear at the base. Unfortunately the shade does have a crack (as pictured) this has been stabilised to prevent further damage.
