Beautiful Antique Oil Lamp, Brass Base, Hinks Duplex Key Lift Burner, Cranberry Glass Shade.
The lamp stands 65cm tall.
A glossy black ceramic base is fixed to a brass pole with three scrolling brass arms supporting the font.
The cut glass font has a pattern to the sides and thumb prints to the top with a brass under-mount and brass lugged collar with a safety catch. (NOT marked Hinks.)
The brass Duplex Hinks burner has a key lift mechanism for ease of lighting, a working snuffer lever with a safety weight, a working single stalk wick winder moves both wicks independently and new wicks.
The wick winder button is marked for the retailer ‘Miller & Sons, Piccadilly, London’.
A glass flat bulge chimney is held by teeth on the burner.
A brass gallery supports a beautiful graduated cranberry glass globular shade, which is profusely acid etched with a pattern of leaves.
The lamp is in superb condition - the only flaw being a very minor chip to the rim of the shade as pictured.
