Antique bronzed French Metal Statue After Adolphe Jean Lavergne entitled Moisonneur (translates to Maverick).
The statue is a large piece standing nearly 2’ tall (58.5cm) he is mounted upon a wooden faux marble plinth and he is signed “Lavergne”. There is a brass plaque mounted on the front declaring him to be “Moisonneur par Lavergne”. This would denote him as being FOR Lavergne and not BY Lavergne. That said, he is not a modern reproduction and does have age. The Maverick is carrying a scythe over one shoulder and a basket of game over his arm. He is in very good condition and the bronzing has a lovely patina.
