Beautifull Antique Oil Lamp sanding 72cm Tall to top of chimney.
The lamp has a stepped base of 15cm square with a fluted column over and a corinthian decorative top.
The font is an acid green cased glass graduating in colour from almost white at the base, to dark green at the top. A frieze of sprigs of flowers encircles the main body.
A brass “British Made” Rowatt duplex burner screws into the collar and has working wick winders and snuffer lever. Some wick remains.
A good quality brass gallery supports a fluted green globe shaped shade and the lamp has a flat bulge chimney.
Conditiion
The base although antique was made in the period when electric lighting was beginning to be used and was produced with a hole for possible wiring later. This has been plugged with a grommet.
